Search
by title:
Enter all or part of a song title, and you will get a list of all songs by
that title. To search by part of a title, use the symbol “..”
as follows:
Example:
dream..
will get you a list of all titles with the first word “dream”.
..dream
will get you a list of all titles ending with the word “dream”.
..dream..
will get you a list of all titles containing the word “dream”.
Search by writer:
Enter complete name, first name followed by surname. If you do not know the
complete name, you can enter one name only.
Example:
Search by year:
Gordon
will get you a list of all writers with either first or last name Gordon.
Enter the four-digit year for a list of all songs associated with that year.
Search by production:
Enter all or part of the title of a production (stage, film, TV, radio, other)
and you will get a list of all the songs originating in that production. If
you enter only part of a title, use the symbol “..” as follows:

will get you all productions with the first word “music”
..music
will get you all productions with the last word “music”.
..music..
will get you all productions with the word “music” in the title.
Note that SongDex recognizes the production for which the song was written, or that in which it was introduced. Many songs were also used in later productions.
